They approached us to improve safety and efficiency in care environments and modernize their sensor system to better suit the contemporary interiors of modern facilities..

Since its launch in 2024, Gold Coast Bed Alarms has seen a surge in interest for Violet Assure™, with noticeable positive effects for staff and the lives of patients. The unique enclosure, hardware and software platform places the device well ahead of their competitors. Here's just a few reasons it took out a Good Design Award Gold in 2024:

Each sensor includes an infrared lens, detecting movement within a virtual 'curtain' up to five meters away. The sensor hardware is housed in an extruded aluminium case, featuring a membrane switch, hidden fasteners, and protected from dust and water with integrated seals. Snapping to the height-adjustable stand with a concealed magnet, the sensor offers quick vertical and horizontal toggling.

Utilising readily upcycled materials, less intensive production methods, minimising plastic, and designing for disassembly, the product minimises its environmental impact.

By prioritising end users, the design is not only safer and minimises care staff overhead, but most importantly, makes the lives of the patients it helps, just that little bit more comfortable.
