The Danthonea LED Display System offers a large scalable high-definition digital display for pictures or movies, without tearing or flashing, for multiple applications including televised sport.

Budling trust with initial work to help Danthonea gain confidence in their supply chain and gain control over their IP, they soon felt confident that our team could help them in a much broader context. Undertaking a number of projects we designed a suite of new products, facilitating manufacture of the system locally.

Delivering quality
Working closely with our client, we improved the functional reliability of the screen system and addressed existing failure modes in order to reduce warranty claims. We made the LED screens more power efficient, lighter in weight, simpler, and more cost-effective to product, while maintaining use of only quality components. Utilising development processes with a proven track record, we developed the system with a future product road-map in mind, ensuring that the product has room to evolve and upgrade with changing market needs.

Designed for the future
Despite being a highly technical and challenging project Ingenuity was able to deliver a reliable system able to stream high-definition video in sync to hundreds of individual LED tiles in a modular display. Here's some of the clever features which make the product so incredible:

Performance powerhouse
Using complex high-speed digital design techniques, such as impedance control, length matching, video processing, redundant gigabit ethernet, thermally efficient materials, and an Ingenuity developed FPGA platform utilizing custom and proprietary Verilog IP cores and soft-core microprocessors, the system is able to stream real-time without any visible tearing or flashing, even when filmed for televised sports.

Material science at work
An individual tile can contain upwards of one thousand LEDs, which required an innovative thermal management design. Using specially crafted potting to achieve both IP sealing and a thermal management path to rear mounted passive heatsinks the tiles are purpose-built for high performance.
